Meet SweePee Rambo, a 17-year-old blind and freckled Chihuahua/Chinese Crested mix who was crowned the world’s ugliest dog.
The annual World’s Ugliest Dog contest was held on Friday at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma, CA.
Last year’s winner was Quasi Modo, a 10-year-old pit bull–a Dutch shepherd mix with a congenital spinal disability.
That’s the spine of a winner right there.
There was some stiff competition this year.
This is Grovie, a 13-year-old.
Diabetic pug who fought hard for the crown. There was also Himisaboo, whom many people called Donald Trump’s doppelganger.
And, of course, there was Rascal Deux, a (mostly) hairless, toothless fan favorite from a long line of World’s Ugliest Dog winners. That’s a wonder for sure.
But in the end, there could only be one ugliest dog, and SweePee Rambo took home the big prize.
SweePee’s human, Jason Wurtz of Encino, CA, told Today that SweePee is “the best friend I have” and that she’s been coming to work with him for the past 17 years.
“I’ve had girlfriends over the years, and they were jealous of her,” Wurtz said. “And like I told them, she was here when you came, and she’ll be here when you leave.”
