Contributor Guidelines

The Chihuahua Corner — Contributor Guidelines We commission a small number of guest pieces each quarter from writers, trainers, breeders, and rescue volunteers who know chihuahuas first-hand. Pitches should be short and specific: the angle, why it matters, who you've already spoken to, and what makes you the right person to write it. What we publish - Reported features on chihuahua rescue, breed history, training, news, and reader stories. - First-person essays with a verifiable hook — your own dog, your own clinic, your own shelter. - Practical guides grounded in cited sources. What we do not publish - AI-generated copy submitted as your own work. - Diagnostic or prescriptive veterinary advice. We are not a clinical publication and none of our editors is a licensed veterinarian; any health piece is framed as a careful read of the literature for the worried owner, with a clear "talk to your veterinarian" close. - Sponsored placements dressed as editorial. How we work with you We pay on publication and ask for one round of revisions. Every piece is fact-checked against named sources. We credit you with a byline and a short bio, and link to your site or social. How to pitch Email [email protected] with the subject line "Pitch: <one-line angle>." Include two or three published clips and a one-paragraph bio. We respond to every pitch within two weeks, even if the answer is no.
