The Coventry police are looking for the public's help after they found an injured and abandoned Chihuahua in a store parking lot.
The injured and abandoned Chihuahua was so hurt that it had to be euthanized, the police said. How sad is that?
They found the female "Chihuahua type" dog at about 7:20 p.m. Monday. The police found her in a soft cooler bag near Walmart on Centre of New England Boulevard.
However, the dog was unresponsive but breathing, according to the police. They immediately took the hurt pup to a veterinarian, the police said.
When the vet had a look of her, he assesed that the poor pup had to go.
What started off as a horrnendous case, continued as such as well. Now, the police are asking for the public's help in identifying the person or people who abandoned the dog. Moreover, the police say the ill intent people may have abandoned the dog within 24 hours of its discovery.
The dog was 3 to 7 years old, weighed 8 to 10 pounds and was brown. It had no collar, tags or microchip.
