Gemma Blackman, a mother of twin girls from Banbury, Oxfordshire, has recently claimed to have Britain's smallest dog. A 9.5-inch tall Chihuahua named Olaf, weighing just 32oz. While Olaf is already two years old, many mistake him for a puppy because of his size.
The pup is a high-maintenance dog, as he doesn't like going out when it's raining or windy, but Gemma doesn't mind. According to her, Olaf is just too cute to leave behind.
Mother Claims Olaf Is Fully Grown Yet Mistaken for a Puppy
Gemma admitted that she never anticipated Olaf to be so small, but when they first saw him, they couldn't resist taking him home. Olaf is named after the friendly snowman from Disney's "Frozen," a popular film among young children.
The pup is the perfect companion for Gemma and her daughters, as he loves to cuddle and is small enough to fit into all her handbags.
Despite his tiny size, Olaf has a big character. He accompanies Gemma on the school run every day, and even though the family cat is half his size, the cat runs away from him. Olaf wouldn't hurt a fly, but he does attract the attention of birds of prey. To keep him safe, Gemma always keeps Olaf on a harness and lead during walks, so birds of prey don't mistake him for a rat from a distance.
Gemma added that Olaf is allowed in shops because he isn't on the floor. The cute pup is a favorite among many dog lovers, who often swarm him, thinking he's a puppy. Anyway, despite being fully grown, Olaf's small size is just too irresistible to pass up.
