If you’ve had a package delivered recently. You’ll probably have been sent a helpful image of your parcel at the door to confirm the delivery was successful. This process can have some pretty funny results. But one delivery photo caught the attention of the internet after a dog took center stage in the hilarious image.

Posted on Reddit on Monday by Chris Duncan from Mississippi, who uses the Reddit handle PunkinMan. The laugh-out-loud image has gained over 20,000 upvotes and received hundreds of comments.

Shared with the caption: “My dad got an email from Amazon.” The picture shows a package by the double glass door where a dog is jumping up and barking resulting in a hilarious expression.

Rascal is a 6-year-old Chihuahua and rat terrier mix.

Rascal, the dog, was posing hilariously for the delivery confirmation photo. This dog’s reaction to his owner’s delivery left the internet in stitches.

And his reaction to the parcel delivery has left internet users in stitches.

Duncan told Newsweek: “I could not stop laughing. I have never seen Rascal make a face like that before.”

One commenter on the viral post said: “This made me laugh out loud, thank you for sharing this,” while another wrote: “This is fantastic.”

According to data from Statista, there were 256 million digital buyers in the U.S. in 2020, estimated to reach as high as 291.2 million by 2025. The retail giant Amazon accounts for a big chunk of online spending, with industry forecasts suggesting that the number of Amazon Prime members in the U.S. could reach more than 153 million by the end of 2022.

Some Reddit users commented on their experiences as delivery drivers and their run-ins with animal residents. For this reason, one user said: “As a former driver, I would purposely get people’s pets in the shot. Shout out to the orange tabby cat on the front porch that time that was so chill.”

Another comment said: “I also am a delivery driver. Every house has dogs! They watch me the second I enter the street. Some bark as soon as they see me. Others lie and wait, watching me walk up to their door with the package. They go full primal rage when I bend down to set down the package! It scares me every time.”

Duncan said:

“I’m just glad Rascal was able to give so many people a good laugh and make their day a little bit better.”

Despite the common perception that dogs and delivery people have a hostile relationship, countless videos and photos across social media platforms show that it is far from a general rule.

Delivery workers for the United States Postal Service (USPS), UPS, FedEx, Amazon, and other companies have been captured in clips showing that they can co-exist with dogs and very often find great joy together.

Some accounts collect videos and photos of human/canine interactions. These include the Facebook page “UPS Dogs” (which has more than 1.8 million followers) and the Facebook private group “USPS Dogs,” as well as numerous personal Instagram and TikTok accounts of delivery drivers sharing moments with dogs along their routes.

Many videos show dogs becoming downright ecstatic when they spot their neighborhood USPS delivery person.
