Meet Our Team - Chihuacorner.com

Chihuahua Corner started because we could not find a single site that took Chihuahuas seriously. Most pet sites lump them in with every other small breed or treat them like purse accessories. Our team is five people with over forty combined years living with the breed, more than thirty foster rescues between us, and enough vet visits to fill a textbook. We write from that experience. Every article is written by someone who has held a shaking Chihuahua at 2 a.m. and knew exactly what was wrong. Someone who has argued with a trainer about whether small dogs need different handling. Someone who has driven hours to pick up a foster that nobody else would take. We do not publish content for the sake of publishing. If we have nothing new to say, we do not write about it. If a piece of advice could hurt your dog, we pull the article. That is who we are. Click on any of our names below an article to learn more about us.

I have fostered over thirty Chihuahuas through local rescues in Southern California and kept four of them. Every dog that came through my home left a mark, and some of their stories still keep me up at night. I write because I have seen how one shared story can change a dog's entire future. The right person reads it and suddenly a dog who has been overlooked for months has a home. Shelters are full of Chihuahuas that nobody thinks to look for. That is why I do this.
I have been around Chihuahuas for over twelve years. Before I became Editor-in-Chief at Chihuahua Corner I worked as a veterinary technician, which gave me a front-row seat to the health challenges small breeds face and the fierce bond their owners carry. My two Chis, Biscuit and Clover, supervise every article from my lap. That is where the best editorial decisions get made. When I am not writing I am probably explaining to someone why a six-pound dog needs three blankets.
I grew up in a household where Chihuahuas were just part of the family. I have spent years researching the breed's history, genetics, and quirks. Not to gatekeep, but because I believe every new Chi owner deserves clear and honest answers instead of outdated myths. I am the person friends call when they are thinking about getting their first Chihuahua and I write the same way I talk to them. Straightforward, encouraging, and without judgment. If you have ever wondered whether apple head and deer head actually matters, or why your Chi shakes when it is not even cold, I have probably already covered it.
My rescue Chihuahua, Mango, was the most stubborn dog I had ever met. Every trainer I found treated small dogs like accessories instead of actual dogs. That frustration turned into a deep dive into canine behavioral science and a commitment to writing health and training advice that respects a Chihuahua's intelligence, not just their size. I started writing because I kept having the same conversations with other small-dog owners who felt dismissed by mainstream training advice. I live in Austin with Mango and Socks. They have taught me more about patience than any textbook.
If a Chihuahua goes viral, breaks a record, or does something ridiculous enough to make the internet lose it — I am probably already writing about it. I have been covering digital pet culture long enough to know the best stories are not just funny. They are the ones that make you look at your own dog differently for a second. My Chi, Pepper, has zero interest in going viral. I respect that. Mostly.
