Nicky came to the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter after her previous owner was unable to continue caring for her. The senior chihuahua is hanging out in a foster home while she awaits her forever home.
Nicky, according to her foster mom, is a very sweet girl who loves to play and cuddle. She is learning how to walk on a loose leash. She gets along with another resident elderly small dog very well. Apparently, Nicky is secretly training for parkour and has been seen leaping up and over the back of the couch in the blink of an eye. She loves being outdoors.
When Nicky came to the Shelter, she was quickly seen by the veterinary staff as she had cuts and wounds throughout her body. After examinations and a skin biopsy, staff identified that Nicky’s hair loss patches are likely scars. The cause of the scars is unknown, however, the lesions have improved since she originally came in August.
Meanwhile, Nicky is in great spirits and ready to find her forever home. Nicky would love a canine friend, could potentially live with a cat, and may even older children. Contact the Foster and Volunteer Coordinator Jill at [email protected] if interested in adopting Nicky (ID A272603).
