A Pit Bull or Chihuahua are two breeds of dogs that differ. The one has a petite body that flies around everywhere, while the other is large and active.
It’s difficult to believe the two dogs could ever be friends, But an article about the pit bull and chihuahua becoming pals at the shelter is trending online.
Special bond
They were together all the time, and they would cry if they ever got separated. Soon enough, the shelter truly understood how deep their bond went.
The pit bull and Chihuahua were always together. They did everything together and never left each other’s company. Volunteers understood that Merrill and Taco were best friends and were inseparable and would cry anytime they were separated.
Finding a forever home
The shelter knew they had to find a family willing to adopt both of them. And shared on Facebook, “These two love each other more than any bonded pair the shelter has ever seen. They cry when they leave each other’s side. This dynamic duo has lost their family, their home, and now we can’t let them lose each other!”
It was challenging to find a family willing to adopt a pit bull and Chihuahua together. So the volunteers shared Taco and Merrill’s stories online, hoping to find one. They were blown away when the story and photo of the two went viral with 14,000 likes.
In the photo, Merrill was sitting in the backseat of her foster mom’s car when Taco poked her head through Merrill’s legs.
The photo was so adorable that it helped their story go viral with more than 26,000 views which meant that they were closer to their goal of finding a forever family.
In less than a month, the pair found their forever home in San Diego as their adopted family wanted to remain anonymous but decided to share photos of the two to let everyone know how they are doing.
The photos show Merrill and Taco lazing by the fireplace in a big plush dog bed, and another shows Taco standing over the top of Merrill-revealing Taco to be the boss of the pair despite being pint-sized.
