The world’s oldest Great Dane is best friends with a tiny chihuahua puppy, and they love to play together.
Millie, the Great Dane, stands 3ft tall, so she’s not the tallest Great Dane in the world. However, at 13.5 years old, she’s considered the oldest in the world.
Millie lives in the UK with her family, the McCanns. According to the Sunderland Echo, Millie has been with the McCanns since she was a tiny puppy. None of the three McCann kids, aged 17, 13, and 5, can remember a time without Millie around!

As 17-year-old Jessica McCann told the outlet, “She’s like my best friend, she is a big part of the family, and we’re lucky to have had her for so long. I’m 17, so she’s been with us since I was little.”
Now, that family has welcomed a new dog into their lives: a tiny, one-year-old chihuahua named Tilly.

While the two are about as opposite as they come, with Millie being large and old and Tilly being tiny and young, they’ve managed to hit off a beautiful friendship.

Millie playfully chases Tilly around the house and demonstrates youthful energy, despite her age.
Tilly loves the attention from Millie, and it can often find the two cuddling together when they’re not playing or running in circles.
Jess said, “She still loves going for walks, and she doesn’t seem like an ‘old’ dog.”
Most Great Dance dogs live to be 8-10 years old, so Millie is doing pretty incredible at over 13 years old. She’ll be 14 years old in August of this year.
Tilly may be the friendship that Millie needed to keep her youthful energy alive and healthy!
